Projects

“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

At Free Range, we have experience working with a wide cross-section of representatives and groups; Often navigating multiple agendas, goals, and budgets to build the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.

By fostering partnerships between councils, BID groups, public sector bodies, local organisations, non-profits, charities, businesses, and volunteers, we help unlock a multitude of benefits. Whether it’s delivering events or supporting community projects, facilitating workshops or managing countywide data collection, we believe that working collaboratively leads to more meaningful, impactful results.

Collaboration is at the heart of effective project delivery

At Free Range, we believe the best projects are built on strong partnerships. Our approach to project management is grounded in collaboration; bringing together the right people, skills, and resources to deliver purposeful, community-focused outcomes.

We specialise in designing and managing place-based projects that address real needs. By working across sectors – whether with local authorities, charities, businesses, or volunteers – we build joined-up strategies that draw on diverse expertise, unlock funding, and connect into wider community networks.

Our role is to hold the bigger picture while keeping everything moving. From planning and stakeholder engagement to delivery and reporting, we coordinate every stage of a project with clarity and care. We champion participation, encourage co-creation, and ensure that those affected by a project have a voice in shaping it.

By managing projects collaboratively, we help create meaningful, inclusive, and lasting impact – strengthening the social fabric and leaving communities more connected than we found them.

Witches, Legends and Curious Tales

The Witches, Legends and Curious Tales mini-festival was created within 7 weeks to meet the timelines set by budget criteria. The resulting festival was a considered exploration of two themes – the victims of the Suffolk Witch Trials and the more unusual elements of Babergh and Mid Suffolk’s history. The programme included map creation, assets, walks, talks and film screenings and was incredibly well attended. The legacy of the festival is the creation of a touring exhibition supported by The Hold.

BLACK USAF: Research Project

This Black-led pioneering research project explores the cultural impact of African American US Airforce (USAF) personnel based in East Anglia from the 1950s-1990s. Focusing on sourcing stories from local communities and archives, these stories will showcase the region’s diverse cultural heritage during the Cold War. The project will preserve and celebrate the contributions of Black USAF staff, while positively challenging assumptions about the region’s cultural landscape.
